6. The Previous Lincoln-Booth Connection
You probably know about the historical connection between John Wilkes Booth and Abraham Lincoln (spoiler alert: it didn’t go well), but you might not know that a few months prior to the President’s assassination, Lincoln’s son, Robert Todd, was at a train station in Jersey City. Pressed against the side of a train car, the young Lincoln was unable to do anything when the train began to move. The momentum carried him off his feet and pulled him into the space between the train and the platform. Fortunately, the young man was swiftly pulled to safety by the most famous actor in the United States (and some say the best actor of all time), Edwin Booth, the brother of the man who would kill Lincoln.
