9. St. Louis Cemetery – New Orleans
There are three separate cemeteries in New Orleans. They’re all super creepy, but St. Louis Cemetery Number 1 just might be the spookiest of them all! The above ground mausoleums are the burial grounds for many notable Nola natives, including Homer Plessy and Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau. Tour guides and tourists have stated that Laveau still haunts this cemetery, singing Voodoo chants and wandering through the winding alleys of the land alongside her daughter. A black snake has been seen guarding her mausoleum, and she’s known to still offer her services for those who are brave enough to knock on the walls of her tomb.
