17. Greenwood Cemetery – Illinois
Originally a Native American burial ground, Greenwood Cemetery has tombstones that date back to the mid-1800s. And it later became the resting spot for Confederate and Union soldiers before being declared an unsafe cemetery in the 1950s. As one of the state’s most haunted burial grounds, visitors have reportedly seen the ghosts of soldiers and the apparition of a woman, known as the Greenwood Bride.
