The Sturdivant Hall in Selma, Alabama, was once owned by a man named John McGee Parkman who bought it in 1864. Unfortunately for him, he was arrested and imprisoned after the Civil War for cotton speculation. He tried to escape and was shot, and when his wife was forced to sell the home his ghost started to appear and haunt the grounds.
