6. An Unbelievable Tale

Kidnappers abducted 4-year-old Marina Chapman, but they had a change of heart at some point and decided to drop her off in a Colombian jungle instead. For close to five years, she lived in the jungle without any human interaction. She learned to take care of herself, ate berries and roots, survived off bananas that monkeys had dropped, and slept in holes in the trees. When she was rescued by a group of hunters, she was walking on all fours and was unable to communicate.

And then things got a bit weird. Chapman claimed that she was sold into a brothel by her capturers and enslaved by a mafia family before she eventually moved to Bradford, Yorkshire. It’s hard to figure out if her story is true or a figment of her imagination, but we’ll take her word for it…for now.
