2. Ancient Greece (500 – 300 B.C.)

The Greeks were obsessed with beauty during ancient times. While the men spent hours working out to chisel their bodies into rockhard masterpieces, women were pretty much afterthoughts, although they were still expected to maintain their looks and the ideal body type.

Statues of Aphrodite of Cnidus showed that full-figured women with thick midsections and smaller breasts were all the rage. Helen of Troy was also greatly admired with her pale skin and darkly rimmed eyes.
