6. “You’re being selfish.”
So, if you’re dealing with someone who’s truly clinically depressed, the odds are solid that they already think they’re being selfish. Most people who are depressed understand logically that their actions are having an impact on the people around them (they’re probably drowning in that knowledge). As such, it’s important to let them know you’re there for them and that they’re dealing with an illness, not a self-inflicted tantrum.
