Ah, truer words were never spoken. Truer, less sensitive words were never spoken. Trust: if you’re speaking to someone who’s suffering from clinical depression, they’re acutely aware of the fact that life isn’t fair and they don’t need you reminding them. As always, it’s best to simply be supportive. Ask questions. Ask if you can help. Listen to them. Don’t point out that life is cruel. What purpose does that serve?
