One of the most common side effects of clinical depression is lethargy and a loss of interest in activities. Simply getting up and going through the motions isn’t the way to correct those problems; in fact, it can be a surefire way to exacerbate those issues and potentially cause harm. Someone who’s suffering from clinical depression doesn’t need to be prodded into action, they need to be assured that help is always waiting for them.
