So, you’ve just put an offer down on your first home! It’s a really exciting time for you. You’re about to put down real roots in a place you can truly call your home. Of course, at the very edges of your kingdom are people around whom you’ll be spending the next few years of your life (at least). But, how can you tell if you’ve moved in next door to some solid neighbors? It can be a tricky detail to ferret out, but not to worry, we’re here to help! Here are 15 ways to tell if you’ve found a good set of neighbors. (Incidentally, if you’re currently living next to someone, you might read through and make sure you’re one of the good ones).
1. They Visit
When you move in, you want your neighbors to swing by and say hello. It’s a sign that you’ve moved in next to people who can actually communicate on a normal human level. When you’re sick, they might offer to drop a meal by. When you’re taking out the trash, they’ll wave. You should be moving in next to folks who will communicate.
