5. Dressed them like adults
Back in the olden days, as soon as kids were toilet trained they were dressed exactly the same as adults. Same clothing styles, colors and fabrics. It wasn’t until the beginning of the 20th century that people started creating different age-appropriate styles for the younger folks to wear and differentiate themselves from the adults. Until up to the 1940s little boys and girls were also dressed very similarly, often both in skirts until the age of five or six. Check out this Victorian boy below, ringlets and all.
