14. Not feed them “angry” breast milk
In the late 1800s and early 1900s it was believed that the mother’s thoughts could be transfered to her baby through breast milk, so it was advised not to poison them with “angry” breastmilk if she was thinking bad thoughts. It was believed that angry milk caused colic, and also that breastfeeding past nine months could blind mothers and cause brain diseases in babies.
