9. Black Rhinoceros

This species of rhinoceros, which inhabits Eastern and Southern Africa, has already been classified as critically endangered. Three subspecies of the Black rhinoceros were declared extinct back in 2011. With only a few thousand left in the wild due to climate change and poaching, there has been a significant drop due to the species being targeted for their horns.
