The Pangolin’s meat and scales are used as remedies for sicknesses in certain parts of Asia. This has led to the animal being trafficked and illegally captured. Between 2011 and 2013, more than 200,000 Pangolins were killed, and heavy deforestation of their habitats have caused their numbers to dwindle.
