7. Guinness … It’s Real Good
Even though the beer most often associated with Ireland does very well for itself throughout the year, the company really pays its rent on March 17. Duh. More than any other holiday throughout the year, St. Patty’s Day has a drink associated with it, and that’s Guinness. On March 17, people take down twice as much Guinness as usual, which amounts to about 7.5 million pints consumed in one 24-hour period.
