Daylight Savings Time is upon us, and we can already sense that irritation is mounting. Sure, the thought of losing an entire hour of sleep is infuriating, but that’s just on the surface. When it really comes down to it, there’s a lot to love about our annual time shift. More energy, more daylight, better food. Seriously, it’s not so bad. Sure, you’re going to have to spend a few days getting used to a lack of sleep, but that can be it’s own kind of fun, too, if you just know how to approach it. The point is, Daylight Savings Time is all a matter of perspective. So here are 12 reasons to stop worrying and love Daylight Savings Time.

1. Screw Nature!

Okay, here’s the more academic end of the spectrum. Or maybe it’s the caveman-y end of the spectrum. Either way, consider this, Daylight Savings Time is a man-made institution in which we as civilized adults try to put one over on Mother-freaking-Nature. Sure, it’s a subtle jab at the lady, but for centuries, mankind has been adjusting its entire pattern of living in order to trick the Earth into giving us more light. It’s a thing; you can look it up. Eat it, nature!
