8. It’s Totally Cool to Nap at Work
The Japanese people have a well-earned reputation for being hard workers. In fact, most reports indicate that easily one-fifth of the country’s working population clock more than 50 hours in a single week (as opposed to 11 percent in the United States). Not only are Japanese people expected to clock more hours in their cubilce, going out and getting blasted with your coworkers is absolutely expected as well. Fortunately, the Japanese culture has built in a back door to this obsessive type-A lifestyle. It’s called “inemuri” and it’s basically a 15-minute nap you can take at your desk. It’s actually considered a sign of hard work and commitment to the job.
