The author behind Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was painfully shy just like many of the other historical figures on our list. He had trouble socializing and engaging with adults, and he was much more comfortable around children. Studies have shown that he had trouble picking up social cues – frequently declining dinner invitations but would drop by unannounced at a later time. He was also lost in his own world, which is pretty obvious for fans of his whimsical work.
