4. Mr. Collins Is a Rarity – Not
It’s so easy to laugh at Mr. Collins in Austen’s masterpiece Pride and Prejudice. However, the reason we find him so comical is not because he’s so singular a specimen as Jane would have us believe, but because we meet him all over the place. He’s at the office, he’s in the grocery store, and sometimes he’s our brother-in-law. “Oh Mr. Collins, stuff a rag in it!”
