No, not those mules. Yes, donkey-horse mules are hybrids, but they’re sooooo boring. No, in the parlance, a “mule” is the offspring of any two caged birds. Apparently interbreeding happens quite a bit when two birds are stuck in the same cage. The results of these pairings can run the gamut from the borderline mythical to the utterly grotesque.
