5. Beefalo
The beefalo, a hybrid of buffalo and domestic cattle, is another animal largely created for beef production. Unlike most hybrid animals, the beefalo is actually fertile. While the species has only been intentionally bred since the mid 19th-century, wild examples of beefalo have been spotted since the mid-1700s. While they do grow to buffalo size, beefalo are bred to be predominately cattle (approximately five-eighths cow).
