16. Leopon
When a male leopard and a lioness are bred, the result is a leopon, in which the lion’s smooth yellow-brown coat is punctuated with the leopard’s tell-tale spots. These beautiful creatures are only bred in captivity, as the two species rarely come into prolonged contact in the wild. Leopards tend to be very shy, while lions are social and territorial. Their offspring, on the other hand, have a tendency towards social behavior, like their lioness mothers.
