The mulard is basically the duck equivalent of a cow. The combination of a Pekin duck and a Muscovy duck, the Mulard is used primarily for their succulent meat in dishes like foie gras. The Mulard was basically invented for the food industry because researchers were looking for a heartier duck with a calmer disposition. Mulards are that and more, producing leaner meat in a shorter time. Even better, they’re as cute as they are delicious.
