8. A Pod of Dolphins Kick Shark Butt
When a group of four went for a leisurely swim off the coast of New Zealand, they didn’t expect to encounter a pod of seven dolphins. What’s more, they didn’t expect that the dolphins would immediately swarm the swimmers, herd them together, and then swim in a protective circle around them. As it happens, the dolphins had spotted a 10-foot long Great White eyeing the group. The pod of dolphins protected the swimmers, slapping the water with their tails and fending off the shark until a passing boat scooped them up.
