11. Donald Trump and the Immigrants
Donald Trump got his Presidential campaign off to the right/wrong (depending on how you look at it, I guess) foot when he declared in his announcement speech, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting.” For some reason, these comments sparked allegations of racism. Donald Trump himself claimed to be completely clueless as to why people were upset. Of course, in the long run the comments haven’t had any impact on the teflon Donald, as he’s still the Republican frontrunner.
