Facebook Rants That Put People in Jail

Facebook Rants That Put People in Jail

We all like to express our opinions from time to time even if that does mean having a good old rant and in many places online you can do this anonymously, meaning that whatever you say isn’t going to come back to bite you.

However on sites like Facebook your identity is revealed so what you say could incriminate you and as proof here are some people who went to jail because of what they cleared on Facebook.

Justin Carter

Back in 2013 the 19 year old Texas was involved in an online discussion about the popular multiplayer game League of Legends Carter got involved in an argument with another user. In one response Carter said I think I’ma shoot up a kindergarten and watch the blood of the innocent rain down then eat the beating heart of one of them.
He followed his post with another saying he was just kidding but law enforcement clearly didn’t think so because after he was reported by another user he was arrested and faced felony terrorism charges with a $500,000 bail.

Shannon D Jackson
When you poke someone on facebook they get a notification saying that you poked them unfortunately for Shannon this simple Polk violated an order of protection that had already been filed against her by the woman she’d poked. This led to the police arriving at her home to arrest her. The order prohibited any form of communications directly or indirectly with the petitioner, Dana M Hannah. Violating such an order is a Class A misdemeanor that can be punishable by nearly a year in jail.

Mark Byron
During an incredibly difficult divorce, this gentleman from Ohio decided to vent his anger and frustration on Facebook, saying: “if you are an evil vindictive woman who wants to ruin your husband’s life and take your son’s father away from him completely all you need to do is say that you’re scared of your husband or domestic partner and they’ll take him away”.
When his wife saw this post she reported it Byron was found in contempt and was offered a choice; 60 days in prison or post a public apology to his wife on Facebook for 30 days. He chose the
apology option.
In addition to the apology he was also ordered to pay 1156 dollars in quite child support and his wife’s legal fees.

Cameron d’Ambrosio
In 2013 d ambrosio decided he wanted to become a rapper so the high school student posted some lyrics on his Facebook page that red: “F**k a Boston bombinb, wait till you see the s**t I do. I’m be famous for rapping and beat every murder charge that comes across me”
Unfortunately if attracted the Polices attention and he was arrested without bail for posting terroristic threats.
However a grand jury refused to indict and the charges were dropped.
Yeah the police neglected to mention that it was just a kid wanting to be a rapper

Paula Ascher
In 2013 18 year-old Asha was driving drunk and hit another
car with for teenagers in it, she then decided to drive off. She later also decided to post it on Facebook, saying: “my dumb a** got a DUI and I hit a car lol”.
But when the parents of the other teenagers saw the post they reported it. A local judge asked asha to take down the post and deactivate her Facebook account. But she refused and as a result she was found in contempt of court and sentenced to two days in prison. After her sentence she returned to court and fessed up, apologising to the judge and the teens in the other car. She also noted that she didn’t think law could put her in jail, but she was wrong.

David volkert
Back in 2011 David volkert received a strange facebook friend request from a Jessica Studebaker. He was suspicious and believed it to be an account created by his ex-wife Angela and probably an attempt to gather incriminating information to use against him in an upcoming custody battle.
But anyway, they got chatting and volkov started to open up more and after many conversations volkert actually admitted that he wanted to run away with Jessica he opened up so much that he said he wanted to place a GPS tracker on his ex-wife’s car so that he could track her and then kill her in order to run away with Jessica.
But tada, it was his ex-wife who had created the account and she took the incriminating evidence straight to the police, who shortly arrived to arrest Volkert.
However, prior to receiving the facebook request he’d gotten a notarized affidavit that read: “I am the life to this person Jessica Studebaker, to gain positive proof that it is indeed my ex-wife trying to again tamper in my life. In no way do I have plans to leave with my child or do any harm to Angelina dawn Volkert or anyone else.” He was released shortly after
